Roy St Retreat

Your host

Robyn has a nursing / health background with degrees in Social Science and Public Health. She is interested in making your stay memorable and introducing you to Wellington.

The house is on a bus route taking you directly into town, or consider a leisurely walk into the city centre (takes 50 minutes). As we are so close to the airport or city taxis are relatively inexpensive. Depending on your departure Robyn can drive you to the airport or bus/train station.

To find your favourite restaurant take a 5 minute stroll to Newtown, or venture slightly further afield into the city to one of the two “café miles”, Courtenay Place or Cuba Mall.

Newtown was originally a working-class suburb in the early 1900s, but has followed gentrification trends in recent years and now has an ethnically-diverse population. You’ll be staying in one of Wellington’s unique turn-of-the-century homes.

Roy Street is a wide tree-lined avenue of two-storied villas where the trams used to run. Wellington Zoo, Newtown Park Athletic Stadium, Wellington Hospital and a myriad of restaurants and cafés are all in the immediate vicinity.
